The ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management standard provides requirements for organizations regarding Energy Management System (EnMS). Auditors Certification facilitates competencies harmonization and audit methodologies for internal needs, assessment of suppliers or conducting third party audits. It enables the auditor to validate it knowledge of ISO 50001, audit management, and obtain a certificate recognized internationally.

Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of an energy management systems to establish conformance (or otherwise) with ISO 50001 and in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).


Persons concerned:

Those intending to acquire the competence to audit a whole ISO 50001-based energy management system, either as a third or second-party auditor. Course is also useful for those participants, who are in the field of Energy Management, Maintenance, Operations etc. and have intentions to conserve energy through energy audits and conformance to Energy Management System.

Prerequisite:

For successful completion of this course, we recommend that you have prior knowledge of the following; - 􀀟Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 50001 and, -􀀟 Knowledge of the following energy management principles and concepts: • The principles of fuel combustion, heat transfer and energy flow • The relevant sources of energy regulation, guidelines and standards • The typical methods and technologies for increasing efficiency • Energy measurement units, sources, costs, tarifs and scheduling • Energy use data analysis methods • Energy performance indicators, monitoring and performance measurement • The impact of organisational processes and equipment on energy efficiency • Electricity use: motors, drives, lighting, computers

Additional information:

Participant evaluation is through Continuous Assessment during all five days and written examination at the end of the course. Successful completion of the course is one of the criteria for an IRCA certified Lead Auditor Status.
